Ehm… I think you’re missing a couple of things: this comic started over 13 years ago, and Piro is an idealized version of himself during his college, not the freakin’ 45-year version.you do realize even if he started it 13 years ago, then he was initially a 32 year old white american writing about young asain girls throwing themselves at him, and now he’s a 45 year old doing it :\ idk why you’re even trying to deny he’s a creepy ass japan-fetishist by any standard.

So you would hate (Bake|Neko|etc)monogatari, Love Hina, Sakurasou (just to cite three of them)… you would even hate Evangelion ‘cause Misato is throwing herself at Shinji. That’s the rule of harem genre. and MT became an Harem webcomic. I won’t deny that is an harem, but it’s the rule of the genre.
Then, I think Fred is grown up enough to separate the real life from a story where the main character was inspired by his college memory, being a man with serious relationship problems with women.
Sometimes I dream about being into a robot and destroying everything, but that does not make me a terrorist.
Just to say something more, the time passed in the story is less than 2 years, so Piro could be _at maximum_ 34 year old. And going with 25-year old girls it’s kinda acceptable in every society I heard of.
